Mindfulness-Based Therapist in Fresno: Jules Confino, LMFT

I knew that Mindfulness was the answer.

After my very first class in psychology, I knew this is exactly what I wanted to do with my life: work with people to help them live the life they want.

Over 35 years later, it is still my heartfelt passion and life’s work. After receiving my master’s degree from the very well-respected JFK University, I opened my own private practice, emphasizing being aware and conscious.

From the beginning, mindfulness has been a guiding thread in both my personal life and my work as a therapist. To me, mindfulness is not about forcing yourself to be calm or trying to think only positive thoughts. It is about learning how to notice what is happening inside you, without judgment, so you can respond with more choice and less reactivity. When people feel stuck in anxiety, stress, or depression, that shift from automatic patterns to conscious response can be life changing.

I have a unique approach to the therapeutic process.

I am empathic and deeply care about my patients. Patients tell me they appreciate that I am respectful and non-judgmental while getting the results they have been searching for. Mindfulness-based therapy should feel like a safe place to be honest, to try new approaches, and to finally get traction on what has been holding you back. My role is to offer grounded support and practical tools, while also making space for the parts of your story that need understanding and compassion.

My extensive experience includes working with individuals, families, and couples from diverse cultural, age and lifestyle range. This passion has taken me to Marin, San Francisco, Fremont, Visalia and currently Fresno, California. I work with a broad range of issues, including anxiety, mood swings, depression, work issues, stress and anger management, relationship conflicts, addiction, transitions, grief, and phobias. Many clients come to me feeling overwhelmed or uncertain, and we work together to create clarity, stability, and a path forward.

In my downtime, I enjoy travel, music (I play a mean harmonica), art, bike riding, hiking and fitness. Married to an artist, we adopted our son from Russia as an infant. Today, he is a biomedical physicist working with cancer patients. Our amusing cat, Lotus, rounds out the family.

I am Jules Confino, LMFT, and I am available to work with anyone, anywhere in California via Telehealth. We can speak via one-on-one closed video, or just speak over the phone: it is entirely up to you and your comfort. If you are in the Fresno area, in-person sessions are also available.

Your comfort is prime in our work together.
